Polar Asset Management Partners Announces First Close of CRS Fund-II

Polar Asset Management Partners Inc. (“Polar”), a Toronto-based global alternative asset manager, today announced the successful first close of Polar CRS Fund-II (“Fund-II”), attracting over US$215 million in commitments for its second dedicated Significant Risk Transfer (“SRT”) investment vehicle. The launch of Fund-II follows the successful allocation of the Firm’s debut CRS fund and reflects the continued expansion of Polar’s credit platform in response to increasing capital constraints across the Canadian private credit and banking landscape.

Polar has been one of the industry leaders in structured credit and risk sharing since 2011 and has invested US$1.3 billion across 20 SRT transactions, including over $730 million through co-investment vehicles.

Fund-II offers institutional investors access to a diversified portfolio of SRTs with leading Canadian banks. The strategy supports financial institutions in achieving regulatory capital efficiency and balance sheet flexibility, while offering investors exposure to a differentiated source of risk-adjusted returns.

The first close of Fund-II positions Polar to begin deploying capital, supported by an attractive pipeline of SRT opportunities. Transaction sourcing is driven by long-standing relationships with Canadian financial institutions, repeat issuance activity and Polar’s experience structuring transactions across credit asset classes. Several transactions are targeted for execution in the second half 2026, with additional opportunities under evaluation.

“A strong first close of CRS Fund-II builds on more than a decade of experience in structured and opportunistic Canadian credit and the rapid deployment of our first SRT fund. As banks face increasing regulatory and balance sheet constraints, SRTs have become an important tool, and we believe our long-standing relationships in Canada and structuring capabilities position us well as a trusted and repeat partner,” said Greg Lemaich, President and Chief Executive Officer.
