Marking its 30th anniversary, NPT introduces a refreshed brand and new headquarters as philanthropy takes on a larger role in creating social impact
CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — National Philanthropic Trust (NPT), the largest national, independent public charity managing donor-advised funds (DAFs), today launched a new brand focused on “Building the Next Era of Philanthropy.” The launch commemorates the kickoff of NPT’s 30th anniversary and the opening of its new headquarters in Conshohocken, PA.
The announcement comes at an inflection point for philanthropy. The great wealth transfer is putting consequential decisions about family wealth, charitable priorities and legacy into the hands of a new generation. At the same time, the ways wealth is created and held are evolving, driven in part by artificial intelligence, technology companies, private markets, and digital assets. These shifts represent significant potential philanthropic capital for the entire independent sector. For entrepreneurs, a liquidity event can bring charitable planning into the conversation much earlier in life. For families transferring wealth, philanthropy can provide a way to connect generations around shared values.
Together, these changes are making philanthropy an increasingly important part of wealth planning, family governance, and long-term community impact. Donors are contributing a broader range of assets, advisers are playing a larger role in philanthropic planning, and nonprofit organizations are seeking stronger partnerships to address pressing needs.
“This is an important moment for philanthropy,” said Holly Welch Stubbing, Chief Executive Officer and President of National Philanthropic Trust. “There is tremendous potential in the capital that will change hands, with companies and technologies reshaping how we live and work, and the generations making decisions about what they want their resources to accomplish. NPT brings together philanthropic expertise, flexible solutions, and strong relationships to help donors and their advisers put that potential to work and direct more resources to nonprofits and communities.”
Legacy of Philanthropic Impact
For three decades, National Philanthropic Trust has worked alongside donors and advisers to navigate this evolution.
Since its founding in 1996, NPT has grown into one of the nation’s leading independent philanthropic institutions. We have facilitated $55.5 billion in grants in over 90 countries worldwide. Last year alone, the organization facilitated more than $10.6 billion in grants, awarding more than 200,000 grants to over 56,000 charitable organizations and surpassing the milestone of facilitating its one millionth grant.
“Thirty years gives us an insightful perspective on how philanthropy has evolved, but the decisions donors and families face now are what matter most,” said Welch Stubbing. “As wealth changes hands and new donors are created, charitable planning needs to be part of the conversation early. At NPT, our focus is on helping donors turn those opportunities into sustained support for the nonprofits, cause areas, and communities near to their heart.”
A Renewed Identity for NPT
The organization’s new visual brand identity, mission and messaging are designed to reflect NPT’s evolution and its work as a philanthropic partner serving donors, financial advisers, family offices, corporations and nonprofit organizations. Its new brand promise, “From Intention to Impact,” emphasizes the connection between a donor’s charitable goals and the resources, planning and relationships needed to put them into practice for maximum impact.
Over the next year, NPT will bring together philanthropic leaders, nonprofit organizations, advisers and community partners through thought leadership content, public conversations and networking events. These will explore how the forces reshaping philanthropy can translate into meaningful support, including what donors, advisers and nonprofits need to navigate that transition.
“The next era of philanthropy will be shaped by how families approach giving together, how advisers integrate it into wealth planning, and how well donors understand what nonprofits need,” Welch Stubbing said. “Above all else, it requires a focus on the nonprofit sector. Our anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on those changes, bring people together around the practical questions they raise and take action to help shape the future of philanthropy.”
NPT’s new headquarters at 2 Ash Street in Conshohocken supports that next chapter, providing additional space and a workplace suited to its growing organization. The relocation from Jenkintown to Conshohocken also places NPT in Greater Philadelphia’s hub for philanthropy, wealth management and financial services, offering proximity to advisers and their clients whose work increasingly intersects with charitable planning.
